Traverse game walkthrough

Note; Leon will only appear if you defeated at least five Heartless. It is allowed to lose to Leon, but by doing so you miss out on a free Elixir and some extra thirty EXP. Regardless, Leon will be quite tough at this point of the game.

He usually will walk slowly in your direction, using vertical and horizontal swings with his gunblade if you dare to get close, although he can also jump into the air to close the distance himself.

His only other move is to shoot fireballs at you, but, like Wakka's blitzballs, you can hit and return them, stunning and opening him up to an easy combo. Beware however, for they are quite fast, although their range is somewhat limited and their accuracy drops somewhat at maximum range.

You can use the entire First District area to fight in, so do not hesitate to run away and retreat to use a Potion to heal. Though Leon does not have that much HP himself, his weapons outranks yours easily in both damage and range. Due to this he is an immense threat up close, as he is difficult to stagger, and will often counter immediately up close. He is entirely vulnerable in the air however, which is only when he will jump towards you, opening him up for an easy aerial combo.

Lastly you can sometimes lure him into attacking, and then flank him for a quick few hits. After his or your defeat you will go through a few cutscenes, regaining control in a hotel room with Yuffie. Talk to her to learn about locks, and then use the Keyblade to unlock and open the blue treasure chest on the table, gaining an Elixir. You can use the temporary save point here, then talk to Leon to say you're ready. After another cutscene he will tell you to ignore the ambushing Soldier Heartless, but defeating them is recommended either way although the first fight against four at once might be a bit much.

Soldiers rely on spins and corkscrews to attack, but are otherwise only slightly tougher than Shadows. Afterwards, return to the First District for a free Mega-Potion from Aerith , then head into the Third District after saving again for the second bossfight. From this point on Donald and Goofy will join you as permanent party members , meaning you can control their actions slightly in combat by ordering them with the command prompt to focus on a target you have locked on to, or just help out in general.

You can also toggle their abilities in the pause menu, change their equipment, give them items to use during combat, and change their battle parameters. The Gauntlets will spin around the Torso, the Hammer Legs will stomp around, and the Torso will enter a spinning tornado move once detached from the rest of its parts. Sometimes the entire Armor will flip into the air, only to come slamming down onto your position. The body slam move is the most dangerous, but is easy to see coming and avoided by jumping away.

As for the spinning move; it winds up first and then homes in on you. You can hit it if you time it right to stun it. Focus on taking out the claws first, for they have the lowest HP, followed by the feet and finally the torso. Use your Potions if need be, even on your allies if you are so inclined for now Donald and Goofy are little more than decoys , but know that defeating a body part will result in a large amount of extra HP orbs. Regardless the fight gets progressively easier with each defeated body part, as it gives the Guard Armor less avenues of attack.

When only the Torso is left it likely will not have enough HP to last long enough to actually use the spin attack. Once cleared, and after the cutscenes, you will receive munny from Yuffie, Aerith, and Leon, as well as an Elixir if you beat him earlier.

Donald will teach you Fire magic , whereas Goofy teaches you Dodge Roll. Fire is a useful long-range magic attack, whereas Dodge Roll is one of the most commonly used abilities during combat to avoid attacks. For now, equip the Brave Warrior you also received after the bossfight, and equip your new ability. Equip Rocket for Goofy as well and Berserk on Donald if he is level nine , while also managing their parameters and your magic shortcuts if you want.

You may want to unequip any of their usable items, lest they waste them. Next, head for the large doors used as the exit. Here you will learn about Trinity Marks , and are immediately granted the Trinity Jump ability. Pick up the munny that appears after using it, and before leaving, send your postcards, and talk to Yuffie, Aerith, and Leon to learn about the lost 99 puppies , followed by checking out the shops with your new-found funds.

Any accessories will likely soon be replaced with better items, and for now provide little actual benefit considering the cost. New weapons for Donald and Goofy is something to consider, but they will be of only marginal benefit.

You can explore Traverse Town some more as well, as there are no Heartless at the moment, and a few more Trinity Marks and chests to find. Once you leave you can choose between either the Olympus Coliseum or Wonderland bottom and upper worlds on the map.

For now the latter is recommended , although you can visit the former to learn a new magic spell and return later to finish off the tougher bosses. PG Witch Cat Escape. Diary Story III. Amajeto 16 Presents. Yearly Most Popular Games. Ainars Winter Wonderland Forest Adventure. Secret of the Island Escape. SD Asylum We'd suggest the latter, so as to be ready and prepared for a significantly more difficult boss, at least for now. Once you're ready to go against the boss of this world, enter the 3rd District.

While we suggest you wait until you get Scan , it will take an awfully long time to gain the ability, so fighting it with Scan might not be worth the extra time. Now a cutscene plays, which is essentially the prelude to the boss battle. Donald and Goofy are on a balcony above Sora , there is an explosion above throwing Donald and Goofy to Sora.

However once they find out that Sora wields the Keyblade, the area is sealed off. Now you have to defeat the numerous Soldiers to make the Guard Armor appear. The Guard Armor finally loses control and its Heart disappears into the sky. You get Brave Warrior for your battle efforts. The following cutscene shows Maleficent and her gang of Disney villains planning on how to get Sora closer to them and initially plan on using Riku.

And finally, after the last cutscene of Traverse Town , you are given Munny from the whole Final Fantasy gang; if you beat Leon earlier, he'll also throw in an Elixir as a bonus. You also get Fire from Donald , and Goofy gives you the Dodge Roll ability, which is extremely handy. Go back to the Accessory Shop and save. Then when you're ready, go out and make your way to Wonderland.

Unless you'd prefer Olympus Coliseum. The Post Sidequest is also unlocked now, but you'll need to have obtained Thunder as well as complete Monstro to finish this.

Drop into the 1st District , go to the alleyway where Sora you started your journey and there should be a Red Trinity on the planks of wood blocking the passage, use it. It should lead to a closed-off area in the Alleyway with a chest , open it to get Dalmatians 4, 5 and 6. Go back to the 1st District and go into the 2nd District and head to the Alleyway through the door near the fountain.

Head to the metal bars blocking off entry at the far right and use the Red Trinity there, it'll break the bars allowing you to get to the Secret Waterway. Talk to Leon and he'll tell you to talk to Cid for the strange gummi pieces and he'll give you Earthshine , we have no idea what it does yet. Go into the Dalmatian's House and go all the way to the first room, Pongo and Perdita will give you a number of gifts.

If you have been following the walkthrough so far, you should have gotten Curaga-G and Firaga-G. Head to the 1st District then into the Accessory Shop , talk to Cid and he'll offer to install those gummi pieces, now Navigational gummis, onto the ship, but in exchange you'll have to deliver the Old Book to the man in the 3rd District.

The bell will ring, it probably indicates something but let's forget about it now. Head to the 3rd District , drop down to the open area where you fought the Guard Armor and turn left, there should be a red door with a flame on it, cast Fire on the door and a tune will play indicating something, basically you opened the door. Head in and you'll end up in the Mystical House. Jump across each moving stone to get to the island and then go through a hole in the wall.

A cutscene will play, showing Kairi appearing out of nowhere, but it's just his imagination. Merlin will arrive and furnish the area and explain to you that he is here to train you in the arts of magic, and not just him but the Fairy Godmother will also appear to help you as well.

Head to her once you're back in control to see what she can do for you; nothing yet it seems, she just tells you how worried she is about Cinderella. Talk to Merlin again, looks like the book is his. We recommend you do the book later on in the game as now you will only be offered a tutorial-like chapter since all the pages are torn, and now we're back to the Fairy Godmother , she will transform the Earthshine gem into Simba , a summon you can use in battle.

Head to the save point and save, and Merlin will suggest you go see Cid , remember when he told us he would be at the house in the 3rd District? Head there and Heartless, but who's that?

An argument occurs and Sora thinks they'll run into Kairi soon. But first, go to the large keyhole and examine it, it'll open the door between the 1st and 3rd Districts, now head to the house, climb the stairs and it's straight ahead.

You'll find out that all these characters were from another world of their own that Maleficent had taken from them, along with Ansem's Report but then another segment where she is persuading Riku to join her side. Cid will give you a Warp-G to warp between worlds and the others suggest going to the bell above the Gizmo Shop. Head up there and use the Red Trinity , ring the bell three times and the Keyhole of this world will appear, jump down and get ready for a boss fight.

After defeating the bosses, Sora will then be able to seal the Keyhole for Traverse Town. You'll get another Navigational gummi, so speak to Cid about that, he'll also give you a free Comet-G. You'll also now be able to head towards Agrabah. Once returned from Neverland , drop down to the 1st District and go talk to Cid beside the Accessory Shop to install the Navi-G Piece , soon in a cutscene Sora will complain about Donald and Goofy being so cheerful when their King is nowhere to be found, but Goofy says that they just believe they'll find him eventually, and Sora remembers Kairi 's words and in a vision is flying towards a bright light and ends up in the library of Hollow Bastion where an old woman is telling a story to young Kairi.

She speaks of the people bathing in the warmth of the light and that soon people fought for it, and that Darkness was born in their hearts and it spread swallowing their hearts along with the world. But some fragments of light survived in the hearts of children and the children then rebuilt the world and true light hides deep in the Darkness and soon a door will open to the innermost Darkness revealing the true light.

Believing in light will push away the Darkness. And then the old woman disappears. Sora reaches out to Kairi but she disappears and he returns to himself. Soon Cid returns and says that "that" place is crawling with Heartless.

Head into the Accessory Shop and use the Green Trinity. Climb up the ladder to get into the Item Workshop , interact with the poster on the left to get a Postcard , then open the chests in the back, one contains Dalmatians 7, 8 and 9 while the other contains a Mythril Shard.

Head back out the door and go to the Geppetto's House. Pinnochio and Geppetto are inside, and they'll tell you Leon helped them get here and gave them this house.
